DIY snack cones

Party hats are perfect vessels to hold snacks. With a few minutes you are able to customize little cone snackers for any occasion. Themed Birthday parties can become very expensive. Using some homemade projects you can cut expenses in half!
One of our favorite things to do together as a family is having movie night at home, gather around the television, watching a movie, and eating some snacks. These moments can become an event by creating some quick and fun decorations.

A project like this can be as simple or as complex as you want. We enjoy creating quick, quirky ways to make our movie nights more enjoyable and creating movie night snack cones is a way to involve the whole family.

Snack cones: (turn a party hat into a snack cone)

Supplies:
party hats
craft paper (any kind, any theme)
glue gun or adhesive of your choice
scissors
pencil
embellishments

Instructions:

disassemble the party hat and lay it out flat on your craft paper of choice.

Trace the shape and cut it out.

Glue the paper in place around the edge and along the seem directly onto the “party hat.”  Be creative by adding embellishments. This project will be perfect to include kids, grand kids, nieces or nephews. Stay in, enjoy your family, and most importantly be creative together. Creating fun little projects like this at home with children will make them feel involved and create special memories that they will cherish.

  • Don’t stop at snacks; Add a handle and these can become goodie bags at parties. Fill with little goodies for kids to take home with them.
  • Easter fill with decorative grass, a few little candies or toys, wrap in cellophane and you have created a one of a kind Easter basket.
  • Wrap with fabric for a more permanant decoration. With a little handle hang on a door knob and allow a little stuffed bunny to sit inside for seasonal decor.
