There’s no question that Miss Mustard Seed’s blog is one of my favorites. I’m sure most of your have seen her furniture , right? Then you know about her Union Jack dresser. It was a HUGE hit and created a big following of copy-cats. Of course, I was trailing behind.
When I start with a piece of furniture I don’t start off with a plan. I start giving the piece a sand and repairing any damaged areas. The design of the piece starts coming to me as I work with the piece.
As I started sanding this piece the wood grain revealed a familiar pattern
Do you see it too?
This was my opportunity to put my own spin on the Union Jack craze
After finishing this piece , It sold on Etsy.
I wish I would have held on to it.
The patina was perfect and would have brought a lot of character to my home.
