Happy Monday :0)

I want to take a few minutes and say ,”Thank you Susan from Susan’s keepsakes!”

“Happiness is a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp,

But which, if you sit down quietly,
May alight upon you.”
{- Nathaniel Hawthorne }

After hours of searching for a diaper bag, I finally found one! Why is that diaper bags are so boring?

 Moms want to be stylish too!!
Stumbling upon Susan’s shop on  Etsy  I found exactly what i was looking for!
I was so super excited to get it in the mail. After running up and attacking the poor UPS man (sorry UPS man for doing a grab and run-Did I even say thank you? oops.)
I quickly ran into the house
 ripped open the package…
“ooooo, Where can I go today?! (well it doesn’t do any good if I can’t show it off!)”

All my items are 100% Handmade by me in our home nestled in the foothills of California’s San Gabriel Mountains. My sewing studio is tucked away with a view of our Liquid Amber trees that turn brilliant colors in the fall and a climbing white rose tree that graces our pergola. This view inspires me to create these wonderful keepsakes for you and family.

My love for sewing started at the young age of 4. I was always fascinated with watching my grandmother sew some new creation for her loving family. I begged her to teach me and she was graciously patient enough to show me how. My first project was making a simple patchwork potholder. I then graduated to making a waist tie apron that was gathered and seemed like it took forever to finish because it was all hand stitched.

My Grandmother would always have a cake or yummy bread baking when we would arrive for a visit. She always wore a wonderful cobbler apron that would have several safety pins attached at various points and an Irish linen handkerchief stuffed into one of her pockets. When I would ask about the safety pins, she would grin, and say “You just never know where one will be needed”. I remember acknowledging that with her 7 children there was always an item of clothing that needed some temporary mending until it could receive her full attention. I was always naturally curious about her many sewing projects and home making skills. I would lean forward with great expectations of another wonderful story of making a home loving and warm (I created my cobbler apron pattern from the memory of my grandmother’s beloved apron).
Doesn’t she just sound lovely?
Dear Susan, Come be my personal accessory maker. haha.
