Porch mini-makeover and WhateverWednesday link party

Nice , huh? This was the view of our front porch a while after we moved in. Surprisingly I shot this after we had been cleaning up the yard.

As soon as we moved in we trimmed trees, removed overgrown bushes/trees, and cleaned up the entire yard all together. Until Spring it sat, untouched. Since we have been working mostly on the inside I wanted to just give the front a little spruceing up.

I gave my side entrance door a makeover (currently the main door-will be removed soon)  giving an instant smile to our curb appeal .

and turned a screen door into a trellis adding some much needed color to our garden .

Turns out I have all sorts of beautiful flowers blooming throughout our yard too. What a fun surprise!
Back to the hideous porch. All of our money is being concentrated inside of the house and on bigger projects. I hated that the front of our home was looking so abandoned . So, I thought I would bring just a little love to make it not look so terrible.
I had this neat love seat rocking chair that has seen better days
and an elcheapo sprayer that I wanted to try out.
Well, there isn’t much I can say for the sprayer. But, the chair looks so much better!
Well, it’s better than it was. Right?
What have you been working on?

I LOVE the yellow. It looks great with the shingles. It is a shame it is going.

You guys did a great job cleaning it up and seeing the beauty hidden under all that brush. Well. Done and can't wait to see what else you create.

I love how a little love goes so far on your project! The loveseat rocker turned out great and I love the pop of color you chose – though I am quite partial to aqua :)

  7. I love to see rundown homes with character become adorable cottages! The yellow “welcome” door is genius! (It's my favorite, but I love all of your improvements!) You're really making it a sweet home!
